MEMPHIS, TENN. (March 8, 2016) – Allegiant has announced the addition of two more nonstop flights at Memphis International Airport (MEM), adding seasonal service between MEM and Destin-Ft. Walton Beach Airport (VPS) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Both flights will run twice weekly. Tickets are now on sale at www.allegiant.com and Allegiant is offering introductory fares as low as $29 each way between MEM and VPS and $59 each way between MEM and LAX. The MEM-VPS flight will launch on May 27 and will run on Friday and Monday. The LAX flight begins June 2 and will run on Thursday and Sunday. Both flights are scheduled to end in mid-August, though strong passenger demand could lead to ongoing service.
Today’s announcements mark four new air service additions for MEM in 2016 after 12 new flights were announced in 2015.
Allegiant now offers nonstop service to nine destinations at MEM, joining Austin, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Orlando/ Sanford, Phoenix/Mesa, St. Pete-Clearwater and Fort Lauderdale. Allegiant began operations at MEM in May 2015.
"Allegiant’s growth in Memphis is now a central part of our reinvention of air service offerings,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “I’m certain our community will embrace and support this Ft. Walton flight as a leisure destination, and additional service to LAX is another feather in our cap in providing access to the West Coast. This signals Allegiant's confidence in further growing their footprint going forward.”
