Allegiant Begins Nonstop Memphis-Jacksonville Service

MEMPHIS, TENN. (April 15, 2016) – Allegiant today began its newest nonstop service at Memphis International Airport (MEM), launching its inaugural flight to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX).
The flights between Memphis and Jacksonville will run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. Tickets can be purchased at www.allegiant.com. Allegiant will utilize a mix of 177-seat Airbus A320 and 166-seat McDonnell Douglas MD80 aircraft for the flight.
Allegiant currently operates seven flights at MEM, joining Austin, Orlando/ Sanford, Las Vegas, Phoenix/Mesa, St. Pete-Clearwater and Fort Lauderdale. The airline will add routes to Fort Walton-Destin in May and Los Angeles in June, bringing its total to nine. Allegiant began operations at MEM in May 2015.
“Allegiant’s addition of this Jacksonville flight provides another great low-cost leisure option to both Memphis travelers and Jacksonville residents looking to experience Memphis,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority’s Board of Commissioners. “Allegiant’s rapid growth at MEM has been a big boost for tourism in Memphis and in our destination cities.”
