Fantasy Flight to take children from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to the “North Pole” Tuesday

MEMPHIS, TENN. (December 20, 2016) – Tonight Delta Air Lines and Memphis International Airport will host a “Fantasy Flight” to the “North Pole” for a group of children made up primarily of patients from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Children will arrive at the airport at 6 p.m. tonight to check in and receive special boarding passes. While they are boarding the plane, they’ll hear the music of the Suzuki Music Makers orchestra. At 7 p.m. they’ll depart from on their trip to the North Pole on a plane provided by Delta Air Lines that will taxi around the airfield before arriving at a different gate, where Santa and many other guests will greet the children.
The trip to the North Pole will include Christmas carols, games and a reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Other special guests will include River City Balloons, Pouncer and the University of Memphis Tigers Spirit Squad, the Memphis Redbirds’ Rockey the Redbird and Team Rockey, Elsa from the movie “Frozen” courtesy of Magical Memories Parties, the Chick-Fil-A Cow, West Tennessee Therapy Dogs, and face painters from Houston High School’s Project St. Jude Club.
This marks the seventh year that Delta Air Lines and Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) employees have coordinated this event. The local Transportation Security Administration (TSA) also assists in coordinating the Fantasy Flight, which also receives contributions from Gigi’s Cupcakes and airport tenants HMS Host, Lenny’s Subs, Paradies Lagardère, and Gate Gourmet.
