    Thursday, December 19, 2013

MEMPHIS, TN – Southwest Airlines has announced that it is adding an additional daily non-stop flight between Memphis and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) in its summer schedule, which begins in June 2014. In August 2013, Southwest subsidiary, AirTran, introduced non-stop service to BWI. Southwest officially began its service in Memphis on November 3, taking over all AirTran flight operations. Southwest also provides non-stop service to Chicago Midway, Orlando, Houston Hobby and Tampa.

Scott Brockman, Chief Operating Officer for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, said, “We are extremely excited about Southwest Airlines adding another non-stop flight to their schedule following through on their promise that ‘if we use it, we will get more.’ Clearly, our local passengers are supporting Southwest and Southwest is listening!”
