Demolition of Concourse A has begun. The space will be cleared to prepare several key future construction sites as part of the Terminal Modernization and Seismic Project (TMSP).
At the March 20 meeting of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) Board of Commissioners meeting, design consultants UrbanArch and Alliiance provided an update on Memphis International Airport’s Terminal Modernization and Seismic Program (TMSP).
Preliminary work has begun on the creation of a new commercial ground transportation lane on the baggage claim level of the short-term parking garage. This phase of the project will not have a significant impact on passengers, though pedestrians will be required to cross the street at crosswalks only. Once completed, ground transportation services will be relocated to this new lane.
From Monday, August 18 through Friday, August 22, the B pedestrian crosswalk on the lower drive (baggage claim level) will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED.
Detour signs will direct passengers to the A or C crosswalks for pedestrian access between the three-story parking garage and the terminal.
