Memphis International Airport will hold its inaugural Runway 5K charity event on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Save the Date!
The Runway 5K offers participants the unique and exciting opportunity to run on an actual airport runway at MEM! All participants will receive an event t-shirt and a Runway 5K commemorative medal. Sponsors will receive recognition in the form of prominent logo placement on marketing materials and on-site signage.

The Runway 5K is organized by the MEM Community Foundation, benefiting Oakhaven Schools. The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority has organized events supporting Oakhaven Elementary, Middle and High Schools for over two decades. Over the years, the support from sponsors and participants has allowed the Foundation to award $300,000 and more than 200 academic scholarships for qualified graduating seniors.
In addition to scholarships for graduating seniors, these funds will be used for donated school supplies, books, hygiene products, and Top-Of-The-Class incentives to keep the kids excited about learning. We also hope to offer STEM activities in the airport or in the classroom to expand their knowledge of airport careers that are available to them.
