Jon K. Thompson World Class Tour

Memphis International Airport (MEM) is excited to host the Jon K. Thompson World Class Tour every month to allow the general public to learn more about what we do.

Named after Jon K. Thompson, one of the Airport Authority’s longest-serving board members and one of the leaders of the original “Airport World Class Tour”, this tour gives Memphians a better look at the airport’s operations and a better understanding about the important role MEM plays in the Mid-South economy.

Activities begin with presentations on the airport’s history, current activities, finances, projects and air service development efforts. The presentations are followed by a comprehensive bus tour of the airfield, the FedEx World Hub and the Tennessee Air National Guard base.
