Airport Authority board passes FY 2025 budget

Memphis International Airport (MEM) has received $5 million in federal funding toward the design and construction of a Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) Facility. This funding was included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 signed into law on March 9, 2024.

A new $245 million passenger concourse, the launch of Spirit Airlines, the return of near prepandemic-level passenger traffic, and a new $309 million centralized deicing facility highlighted a year of reinvention for MEM.
The Memphis City Council has confirmed the reappointment of Jack Sammons to the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) board of commissioners. Sammons was nominated by City of Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland.
