As part of the TMSP program’s outer commercial drive upgrade, the transit tunnel underneath the drive must be filled in to meet seismic standards. Progress continues on the filling and expected to be completed by August.

When Memphis International Airport added Terminals A and C in the early 1970’s, these sub-basement transit tunnels were imagined as the future home of a tram system connecting passengers between future remote terminals, or as a connection to a future subway system.
