MEMPHIS, TENN. (November 15, 2019) – Allegiant has launched its new nonstop service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). The flight will run twice weekly on Friday and Monday through April 30 and will then return for the summer on May 22.
Tickets are on sale at www.allegiant.com.
This flight addition brings MEM’s total number of destinations to 35.
Allegiant now offers nonstop service to nine destinations at MEM, with Punta Gorda joining Austin, Destin-Ft. Walton, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando/Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa, and St. Pete-Clearwater. Allegiant began operations at MEM in May 2015.
“We are thrilled to grow again in Memphis and to offer travelers a new, nonstop option for travel to Punta Gorda,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. “With service starting just in time for a winter getaway, we know local travelers will love our convenient, affordable service to beautiful southwest Florida, while Punta Gorda-area travelers will love the sound of blues and the taste of famed Memphis barbeque.”
“We are very excited to see Allegiant continue to expand its Memphis service,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “This new route to Punta Gorda provides passengers with yet another popular leisure destination and adds a nonstop option to the west coast of Florida. Allegiant now offers flights to nine different destinations from MEM!”
