MEM provides travel tips for upcoming Fall Break periods

Frederick W. Smith International Airport (MEM) is sharing travel tips ahead of upcoming Fall Break periods for area schools. With differing Memphis Metro area school schedules, MEM expects two travel periods to take place between October 1-5 and October 8-12. As many as 49,000 people could pass through the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint for each of these time frames. The peak days are expected to be Friday, Oct. 2 and Friday, October 9 with approximately 10,600 people passing through the checkpoint each day.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expects an estimated 51,000 people to pass through the checkpoint at Memphis International Airport (MEM) during the 2025 Fall Break travel period, which will take place between October 9-13. This represents an increase of about six percent compared to Fall Break 2024. The peak days are projected to be October 9, 10 and 12 with approximately 11,000 people passing through the checkpoint each day.
