KBRA affirms Airport Authority’s “A+” rating

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 20, 2024) – KBRAKBRA has affirmed an “A+” rating and stable outlook for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority’s (MSCAA’s) revenue bonds issued for Memphis International Airport (MEM).

The rating reflects MSCAA’s sound financial performance, characterized by solid debt service coverage and healthy liquidity, strong post pandemic enplanement recovery and a large cargo presence at the airport which is supportive of airfield operations and diversifies the airport’s operating revenues.

“Our rating reaffirms MSCAA’s sound financial management and continued commitment of our team to steward our resources using our mission and vision as our guiding principles,” said Terry Blue, MSCAA president and chief executive officer.

In addition to the KBRA rating, MSCAA has recently received additional high ratings from Fitch and Moody’s ratings services. These include:

  • Fitch: A (stable outlook)
  • KBRA: A+ (stable outlook)
  • Moody’s Investors Service: A2 (stable outlook)
