- Memphis International Airport is open though airlines are operating on a reduced schedule today.
- Even though MEM is open with flights arriving and departing, weather across the U.S. is likely to continue to disrupt airline schedules.
- The TSA checkpoint and concessions are open as well.
- MEM crews have continued to work 24/7 to keep runways and surface areas clear of snow and ice.

Other MEM Winter Operations Highlights:
- Airport crews will continue to work around the clock to keep surface areas clear.
- For airport crews, the goal is to prevent the buildup of ice and snow on runways and taxiways so that aircraft can continue to operate safely. Crews also work around the clock to clear ramps, service roads, terminal roadways, fuel farm loading areas and more.
- These areas total more than 28,650,000 square feet, the equivalent of more than 226 miles of a typical two-lane road. This is comparable to the driving distance between the airport and the city of Birmingham, AL.
- MEM’s centralized deicing facility is active and airlines will perform deicing operations as needed.
- While MEM is responsible for deicing and clearing runways and taxiways, airlines handle all aspects of deicing aircraft, including staffing, application and equipment maintenance.
- MEM has more than 50 vehicles dedicated to snow/ice removal, including snow brooms, plow trucks, snow blowers, liquid and granular de-icing trucks, and tractors.
- Approximately 145 employees from airfield and building maintenance are available for snow operations, along with staff from Operations, Communications, Airport Police, Procurement, and many other areas. The vast majority of the Airport Authority’s 350 employees are involved in winter weather operations in some capacity. Many of these employees will be housed at MEM’s Mission Support Center for the duration of the weather event.

- Airline schedules continue to be affected by the winter storm across the U.S., and current information indicates a reduced airline schedule on Sunday, January 25. Passengers should check with directly with their airline for particulars.
- With the first flight tomorrow scheduled for 11:35 am, TSA and concessions will open at 9 am. This timing could change depending on weather and airline schedule developments.
