The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expects more than 55,000 people to pass through the checkpoint at Memphis International Airport (MEM) during the Memorial Day weekend travel period, which will take place between May 23 and May 28. The peak days are projected to be Thursday and Friday, with more than 10,000 people passing through the checkpoint each day. The projected throughput this weekend represents an increase of 5.8 percent compared to the same travel period in 2023, which was the busiest Memorial Day Weekend since 2008.

Coming off its busiest week since 2008, Memphis International Airport (MEM) is projecting approximately 52,000 people to pass through the TSA checkpoint during the Memorial Day weekend travel period, which will take place between May 25 and May 30. The peak day is expected to be Friday, with more than 9,500 people passing through the checkpoint.
