MEMPHIS, TENN. (November 6, 2020) – Southwest Airlines has launched nonstop service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX).
The service, which was announced in May, ran this summer between July 26 until August 10. Yesterday’s launch marks the beginning of ongoing service. The flight will operate four times a week, with daily flights on Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday. Tickets are on sale at www.southwest.com.
Southwest Airlines began operations at MEM in November 2013 and most recently launched Memphis-Atlanta service in March 2020. The airline currently operates service between Memphis and seven cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Orlando and Phoenix.
“This is very positive news in the midst of what’s been a very difficult year for aviation,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “Now passengers will be able to take advantage of Southwest’s new Memphis-Phoenix service sooner than expected!”
