MEM on the Move: Ride app operations to move to arrivals level at MEM on September 9

Commercial Curb Updates - Sept 9, 2025

MEMPHIS, TN (September 8, 2025) — Starting Tuesday, September 9, ride app operations will be moved to Memphis International Airport’s arrivals level, outside the C baggage claim area. The move is related to construction for Memphis International Airport’s Terminal Modernization and Seismic Program (TMSP) and the opening of a new commercial lane on the arrivals level.

Following is a summary of the latest TMSP updates and passenger impacts:

  • On Tuesday, September 9, ride app (Uber and Lyft) operations will move to the arrivals level outside the C baggage claim area.
  • All ride app, shuttle, limo and taxi operations will take place on the new commercial lane.
  • The outer commercial drive outside the departures area has been closed for construction.
  • The crosswalk to the B terminal has been closed for construction. Signage has been installed to guide passengers to the A and C terminal crosswalks.
  • Additionally, MEM employees and volunteers will be strategically positioned to assist passengers.

MEM will now begin work on the replacement of the outer drive, a project that is expected to take about two years. Once the outer drive project is completed, work will begin on the modernization of the terminal and the arrivals and departures areas. For more information and updates on the project, visit www.memonthemove.com.

The TMSP project is part of an extensive multi-year project that will invest more than $700 million in facility improvements for MEM passengers. It is the largest capital project in MEM’s history. Project funding will include general airport revenue bonds, state and federal grants, passenger facility charges (PFCs) and other Authority capital funds. No city or county tax dollars will be used to fund the project.
