he Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) and FedEx Express (FedEx) continue working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to develop safe procedures for drone operations within the perimeter of an FAA-towered airport as part of FAA’s BEYOND drone program.
The grand opening for Memphis International Airport’s Consolidated De-Icing Facility was held on Tuesday, November 29. Dignitaries and leaders from Memphis and Washington, D.C. joined the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority in celebrating the facility, which was completed just in time for the heavy holiday cargo season.
Memphis International Airport (MEM) has regained its status as the world’s busiest cargo airport, according to preliminary 2020 world airport traffic rankings released by Airports Council International (ACI). The last time MEM held the top spot in the cargo rankings was 2009.
